Obituary for Annarose E. Hepner (Christ)

On March 19, 2023 Annarose Elisabeth Hepner passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born in the small rural village of Epfenbach, located outside of Heidelberg Germany in 1939. She lost her father during WW II and was raised by her mother in a country ravaged by war. She was proud of her American citizenship and learned to speak English by watching television, but she always thought in German and translated to English.
Annarose was the mother of eight active children including her favorite. She loved children, nature, and God. She enjoyed her European garden, walks in the woods and sewing.
Annarose is survived by Joseph, her husband of 65 years, her eight children, 21 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Seven Sorrows BVM church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown, PA at 11 AM on Monday March 27th. There will be a viewing from 10 AM until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to Seven Sorrows BVM church. The service will be live streamed for those of you who are unable to attend in person. To view live stream, go to the Matinchek Funeral Home website and to Annarose’s page.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the cemetery.
