Obituary for Beth Ann Swartz (Fisher)

Beth Ann Swartz, 60, of Middletown entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 11, 2023 suddenly at home. She had been recovering from surgery in recent weeks. Beth was the devoted wife of Timothy J. Swartz for 35 years.
She was born on October 12, 1962 in York and was the loving daughter of Betty L. (Kilgore) Fisher and the late Jay T. Fisher.
Beth worked for Penn State College of Medicine as a staff coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry and has been a Penn State employee for 30 years.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Congregation of Middletown where she served on many committees and as a Sunday school teacher.
Beth enjoyed reading, especially at the beach; swimming with her grandchildren; vacationing at Lewes and Rehoboth, Delaware; cooking for family gatherings; and researching genealogy. Her family was her greatest love.
In addition to her father, Beth was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Courtney and by her stepfather, Clyde Fisher.
In addition to her mother and husband, Beth is survived by her son, Collin M. Swartz (Anna L. Ritchie) of Hummelstown; daughter, Kristin E. Wilson (James) of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Emmitt, Olivia, Rhett.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at noon, followed by a luncheon, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 121 N. Spring St., Middletown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Beth’s name to the Middletown Public Library, 20 N. Catherine St. Middletown, PA 17057.
The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. with the funeral arrangements.
