Obituary for Bonita S. Silbaugh (Sleighter)
Bonita S. Silbaugh, 73, of Mechanicsburg formerly of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at home.
Bonita was the widow of Dennis W. Silbaugh and was born on February 8, 1947 to the late John L. and Evelyn I. (Troutman) Sleighter.
Bonita was a member and also the former church secretary of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church-Middletown. She was a retired secretary that worked at the former Olmstead Air Force Base, Penn State Capital Campus and also as a switchboard operator and secretary at the former Piedmont Airlines, Middletown. Bonita also volunteered for many years at the former Middletown Christian School. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and trivia. Bonita loved to travel and go on trips but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Bonita is survived by her son, Joshua A. Silbaugh and wife, Kimberlee; her daughter, Leslie A. Duong and husband, Nam, all of Mechanicsburg; her sister, Cynthia Hoffman; her grandchildren, Hydee and Lochlann Silbaugh and Levi, Quinn and Grace Duong.
Bonita’s husband, her brother, John Sleighter, Jr. and her sisters, Patsy Hulstine, Joanne Meinsler and Norma Sleighter, all preceded her in death.
A visitation with the family will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM, Saturday, December 5, 2020 in her Church at 10 Spruce Street, Middletown, PA 17057. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation starting at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in Bonita’s name to her Church.
