Obituary for Carol Ann DiLazzaro (Hudock)

Carol DiLazzaro, an adored wife, devoted mother and cherished Gram, entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
Carol was born in Minersville, PA on Christmas day, 1943 to the late Ambrose and Eleanor Hudcock.
Christmas was her favorite holiday where many of her extended family gathered for food, fun and caroling (which was her namesake). In 1965, she married her beloved Anthony (Tony) DiLazzaro who was the brother of Tina, one of Carol’s best friends. They moved to Harrisburg where they met a group of lifetime friends who worked at Bell Atlantic with Tony. Carol worked as an administrative assistant at Blue Cross and Blue Shield until they had children. In her free time, she became active in East Pennsboro Women’s club and a card club where she met another group of dear friends. She stayed at home to raise her daughters in a neighborhood of amazing families, who to this day are more like family than friends. To achieve a good work life balance, she decided to combine her love of reading and children and worked as an assistant at the East Penn School District Elementary Library system for 23 years. Her life after retirement included caring for her grandchildren and spending time with all her friends and family. She also enjoyed playing cards, making crafts and rooting on her Nittany Lions and Steelers. In addition, she loved traveling, especially to Disney or going on cruises with her family. Carol was a dedicated, loving mother and grandmother who instilled a strong work ethic in her children and grandchildren. She never missed an event, even if it meant traveling up to Canada or down to Florida. Carol will be most remembered for her fun, good-natured spirit as well as her caring nature as she always put others above herself. Even at the end, she demonstrated her qualities of toughness, determination and belief in faith.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Anthony DiLazzaro of 57 years, her daughters, Danielle Noga (Mark) and Stephanie Morin (Dino), her granddaughters, Alison and Riley Noga as well as many extended family members.
A special thanks to her tremendous support of caregivers, home health therapists and hospice personnel as well as family and friends for ensuring she had the best quality of life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, January 27, 2023 in St Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA.
