Obituary for Charles G. "Butch" Bair Jr.
Charles “Butch” Bair, Jr, 75, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 27, 2020. He was born at home on October 23, 1944 in Middletown to the late Charles “Pete”, Sr. and Mary (Miller) Bair. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Esther (Duncan) Bair.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Lenoard K. Bair of Middletown; a brother, Robert Lester Bair of Harrisburg; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his oldest son Charles “Chuck” Bair, III; 2 sisters, Sara Bair Miller Long and Eleanor Bair Slabonick.
He was a proud Mason and a member of the Prince Edwin-Spring Creek Lodge No. 486 and the Harrisburg Consistory. Charles worked for Yellow Freight Systems in Lancaster, PA for 32 years and at Sharp Shopper for 5 years.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 10-11 AM at Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 260 E. Main St., Middletown, PA 17057 with Pastor Tony Zibolski officiating. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a private, invite only, memorial service immediately following the viewing. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his honor to Masonic Charities, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or to Hospice of Central PA 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
