Obituary for Christopher C. Ray

A devoted husband, father and son, Christopher Ray, 60, of Harrisburg, passed away on February 18, 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing.

The world became a brighter, warmer and more beautiful place on November 15, 1960 - the day Chris was born. Chris lived a full life and he filled the lives of those who knew him with kindness, happiness and joy. The depth of his loss is incomprehensible.

Chris was a graduate of Shippensburg University, an avid basketball player and sports fan, and enjoyed traveling the world with his wife. He previously served as an exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge 13 in Harrisburg, and has worked for the past five years as National Sales Manager for Levi’s Building Components in Leola, Pennsylvania. Chris was extremely intelligent and knew something about every topic that ever came up.

Chris was predeceased by his father, Richard Ray; his brother, Matthew “Marty” Ray; and a granddaughter, Arianna Ray. He is survived by his adoring wife of 19 years, Betsy Goodman; his mother, Connie Slonaker Ray; his three daughters, Lyndsay Ray, Alyssa Ray (Jeff) and Kacey Muniz (Adam); his six grandchildren, Ava, Easton, Quinn, Hannah, Noah and Eliza; his four nieces and nephews, Seth, Collin, Aubrey and Jayci.

Due to Covid -19 there will be a private, family service and no public service at this time, details entrusted to Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Middletown. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society 1-800-227-2345. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.matinchekfuneralhome.com.
