Obituary for Constance Louise Lohr

Constance Louise Lohr, 86, formerly of Middletown, PA,  entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the Arden Courts of Susquehanna, Harrisburg PA. 
She was born on April 26, 1936 in Johnstown PA and was the only daughter of the late Howard “Chick” Maurer and Eleanor (Roberts) Maurer. She was a graduate of the former Jenners Boswell Jennerstown High School.
Connie was an Air Force wife and moved with her family to bases in Virginia, Texas, and Florida before moving to Middletown in 1973.
Connie was an active  member of the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.  She served as a Sunday School 1st Grade teacher, Vacation Bible school teacher, occasional choir member, and enjoyed the ladies quilting group. She spent much of her time painting ceramics, gardening in her yard with her many flowers & bushes, and taking care of her family. Most Friday nights she could be found playing games with her husband, Jack,  and their dear friends the McKibbens & Fuotis; a tradition that lasted almost 30 years. 
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Lohr and three brothers, Howard, Edward, and Neil Maurer. 
She is survived by her three children, Brian Lohr (Linda) of Lititz, PA, Bruce Lohr (Phyllis Ann) of Perry County, PA, and Ruth Ann Keller (Robert Keller, Jr) of  Mt. Pleasant SC; seven grandchildren, Samuel Lohr, Heidi Rudy, Robert Keller III, Hannah Lohr, Isaac Lohr, Jack Keller, and Daphne Shelton; three great grandchildren, Monty Lohr Sorni, Michael Rudy and Hosanna Shelton.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Susquehanna Valley Church, 6433 Union Deposit Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111 with the Rev. Matt Saxinger officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday, at the church. 
Inurnment will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville PA immediately following.
The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. Middletown to handle the funeral arrangements.
