David J. “DJ” Floyd, 59, of Middletown, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Wednesday,
August 4, 2021.
David was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on March 6, 1962 to James R. and the late Annette
(Whitman) Floyd.
David was a US Army Veteran and a retired Harrisburg City Police Officer. He was a volunteer
Firefighter for Lower Swatara Fire Department as well as a Pennsylvania Firefighter Instructor.
David is survived by his father, his brothers, Mark and wife, Jill Floyd and John and wife, Janna
Floyd; his nieces and nephews, Anna, Rebekah, Daniel, Samuel, Heidi, Benjamin, Emma and
Katherine Floyd.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 13, 2021 in Matinchek Funeral Home &
Cremation Services, Inc. at 260 East Main Street, Middletown, PA. A viewing will be held from
12 pm to 2 pm, Friday, in the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in the
Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Dave may be made to the Lower Swatara Volunteer Fire Department.
