David E. Pickel, Sr., 90, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Middletown, went to be with his Lord and savior on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA. He was the widower of Janet K. (Yost) Pickel.
David was born December 27, 1932, in Middletown, PA and was the son of the late Levi and Margie (Miller) Pickel.
David was a member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Middletown where he was an ordained deacon and member of the Board of Trustees. He was retired from the Dauphin County Home as an electrician. David was life member of Conewago Rod and Gun Club. David enjoyed hunting and fishing but his greatest joy was his family.
David is survived by his children, David E. Pickel, Jr. and wife, Diane, Brett T. Pickel and wife, Kim, Joy C. tennis and husband, Gary and Mark D. Pickel and wife, Melissa; his brother, Clyde Pickel and wife, Loretta; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his wife; his brothers, Lee Pickel, Marlin Pickel, Ray Pickel, Carl Pickel, Martin Pickel and Richard Pickel and his sister, Mary Kardesco.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 10 Spruce Street, Middletown, PA. A viewing will be held from 11 am to 12pm, Wednesday in the Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to his Church.
