Obituary for Dawn R. "Grand Dawn" Duffins (Lacy)
Dawn R. Duffins, 77, of Millersburg, formerly of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Premier at Susquehanna Nursing Home.
Dawn was born on July 18, 1943 in Columbia, PA to the late Lawrence and Jean N. (Waters) Lacy. She obtained her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1965 from Millersville University (Millersville State Teacher’s College).
Dawn was a member of the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg and a retired school teacher. She was a special education teacher of kindergarten and first grade students in the Lebanon School District in the 1960’s and in the Harrisburg City School District from the early 1970’s until her retirement in 1995. Dawn also was a former houseparent at the Milton Hershey School.
Dawn is survived by her son, Varo L. Duffins and wife, Sharon, of Springfield, PA, her daughter, Veronica L. Brown and husband, Jason, of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Donovan Brown and Nathan Brown, Gary Gambino (Laura), Heather Shenk, Benjamin Gambino (Taryn); her great grandchildren, Olivia, Rocco and Julianna Gambino; her sister, Carol Wansley (Fred), nieces, Joy Wansley and Celeste Carpenter and her nephews, Jared Wansley and Jarvis Wansley as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11 am in Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, PA.
