Obituary for Donald N. Goodling

Donald N. Goodling, 59, of Dauphin passed away at home of natural causes. Don was born in Harrisburg, PA on January 4, 1961 to the late Goldie & Norman Goodling. He graduated from Central Dauphin East High School and served four years in the United States Marine Corps. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Violet and a brother Raymond. Don is survived by his sister Iris (Ray) Collard and sister-in-law Pam Goodling. Also surviving are 19 nieces, nephews, grands & greats.
As a young adult, Don’s hobbies were creating board games, drawing cartoon characters and writing stories. Throughout his life he was a big sports fan, especially Phillies baseball in the summer, and New York Jets football in the fall, along with any & all college football games.
Over the years Don enjoyed his jobs: delivery driver for Rent-A-Tux, mailroom clerk for Polyclinic Hospital and maintenance janitor at the PA State Museum. In recent years he was a devoted caregiver for his mother.
Donald attended Stone Glen Church of God. Pastor Don Price of the church will lead a graveside service in Middletown Cemetery, Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:30 AM. Any gifts in memory of Donald can be made to Stone Glen Church of God, 1030 Stony Creek Road, Dauphin, PA 17018.
