Obituary for Doris M. Rehrer

Doris M. Rehrer, 95, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Carolyn’s House, Hospice of Central PA, Harrisburg.
She was born on December 25, 1924 in Highspire and was the daughter of the late William J. and Martha (Brannen) Gallagher.
Doris was retired from the Middletown Area School District. She was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Middletown where she was involved in many activities. She was a resident at the Middletown Home where she also enjoyed all of the different group activities that they offered; of which bingo and dancing were her favorites. She loved to dance, spend time with her family and the McDonalds/Hersheypark groups. She was also a member of the Royalton Senior Citizens, Londonderry Senior Citizens, Highspire Alumni Association, former member of the Highspire Singers and former volunteer with Meals On Wheels, Middletown Thrift Shop, and Middletown Food Bank.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph D. Rehrer Jr. and a sister, Jacqueline Gallagher Collins.
She is survived by her two children, David W. Rehrer and his wife Sue, Judy R. Potteiger and her husband Barry; two grandchildren, Nathan L. Potteiger and his wife Heather and Stacy Schmelzer; five great-grandchildren, Jane and Aria Potteiger and Bill, Mike, and Tom Schmelzer; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A tribute to her life will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Middletown with the Rev. Dr. J. Richard Eckert officiating.
Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Middletown Cemetery.
