Obituary for Edward Albert Jacobs
Edward Albert Jacobs, 81, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest after a lengthy illness on February 2, 2021, surrounded by his loving family in the home of his daughter. He was born April 17, 1939 in Canonsburg, PA to the late Gabriel James, Sr. and Mary (Backner) Jacobs. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Marie (Sroka) Jacobs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 daughters, Jamie Belfonti wife of John, Lisa Keefer wife of Chris, Mary Schmidt wife of Lawrence, and Cheryl Moyers wife of John; 10 grandchildren, Kristen Troy (Jesse) Eric Tritch (Randi), Mandi Tritch, Josh and Megan (significant other Matt) Meinsler, Erica, Elizabeth, and Nicholas Schmidt, Ashley and Jessica Moyers (significant other Timothy); 8.5 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Sadie, Dylan, Brennan, Jada, Kira, Avery, Wyatt, and Ziva Lise (expected in May); and 2 siblings, Gabriel James Jacobs, Jr. and George Jacobs. He was predeceased by a daughter, Terri Lynn and a sister, Deborah Mohler.
He retired from the department of Labor and Industry after 35 years of dedicated work as a computer operator. Edward was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Edward was an excellent bowler, once even bowling a perfect game of 300. He loved being outdoors golfing or spending time working in his garden. He was an avid Steelers fan and was fortunate enough to go to S.B. XLIII with his daughter Lisa and her husband Chris.
Services will be private family only, but may be viewed livestream on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11 AM or anytime following.
