Obituary for Erin Kelly Reem (Elmer)
Erin Kelly Reem, 61, of Hershey, entered into eternal rest on January 27, 2022 at the Hershey Medical Center. She was born September 21, 1960 in York to the late William Read and Karen Irene (Whiteford) Elmer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Kenneth Alan Reem; a daughter, Kendra Zeigler and husband Jim; a grandson, Levi Zeigler; a nephew that was like a son, Michael Reem and wife Dori; and a sister, Sandy Hock and husband Scott. She is also survived by seven other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Elmer.
Erin spent many years devoted to helping her parents run Elmer’s Grocery and Variety store. She was a faithful and active member of Zion Shaffer’s United Lutheran Church, in Seven Valleys, where she grew in faith in their Vacation Bible School. She dedicated 21 years to running Larami Metals Inc., with previous employment at J&K Salvage, and Sahd Recycling where she was an integral part of the Recycling Center’s Earth Day celebration. She was President of the Band Booster Club in Spring Grove in 2004-2006. She was active with the band, helping to prepare costumes, fund raising, and the indoor Color Guard. She was a past president of PA Jaycettes with the Dover, PA chapter. She also shared her talents in baton with Kim’s Firecrackers. Erin was a loving and dedicated caretake who devoted her life to caring for family and all those whom she loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 12-3 PM at the Linglestown Fire Company in the St. Thomas Room, 5901 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17112. The service will begin at noon and the celebration of life will immediately follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to Matinchek Funeral Home & Cremations Services, Inc., 260 E. Main St., Middletown, PA 17057.
