Obituary for Fred Edward Law Jr.

Fred Edward Law, Jr., 81, of Hershey, PA, passed away with his loving wife at his bedside on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

He was born February 13, 1939 in Nashville, TN son of the late Fred Edward Law, Sr. and Jane (Lyles) Scoggins. In addition to his parents Fred was preceded in death by his brother William Madden.

He was a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He also attended Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA. He was employed by Honeywell as a sales manager and retired after 25 years.

Fred was an active member of the Middletown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He really enjoyed going door-to-door witnessing about God’s Kingdom and teaching others how God’s Kingdom will bring a permanent end to all suffering.

His greatest love was his family. He demonstrated his love by his actions. On Sunday mornings he would make a huge southern style breakfast of steak, eggs and homemade biscuits. He coached his children’s sports teams, attended their concerts, plays and recitals. He provided a comfortable life for his family and the means for his children to attain various levels of higher education.

Fred had other interests as well. He was a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan. His enthusiastic cheering during Steelers, Pirates and Penguin games often drowned out the teams’ commentators. In his younger years, Fred enjoyed many outdoor activities including cycling, running, golfing, and tennis. He was famous in our old Plum Borough neighborhood for beating a small motorcycle in the man versus machine race. Fred was a voracious reader and audiophile. He listened to all genres of music specifically classical and opera. He also loved watching old movies.

Fred is survived by his wife of over 50 years Cindy (Cinderella Harris); N. Carlton Law (Carl) and (Tomoko Wada) of California; Charles Griggs Law and (Alena) of Pennsylvania; Jeffrey E. Law of California; Sheleagh Law-Rosso of California; Brothers, Robert and Joshua Madden of New York; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives, friends, and spiritual family.
