Obituary for Harriet A. "Bitsy" Strawser (Shope)
Harriet A. “Bitsy” Strawser, 82, of Middletown, PA passed away on September 28, 2020. She was the widow of Lamar D. Strawser.
Bitsy was born April 24, 1938 in Middletown, Pa to the late Lester B. and Harriet (Landis) Shope. In addition to her parents and husband, her sister, Patricia L. Grubb, preceded her in death.
Bitsy is survived by her son, Matthew M. Strawser of Elizabethtown; her daughter, Heather A. Strawser of Hummelstown; her Step-son, David L. Strawser, wife Michelle and granddaughter Samantha; Nephew, Richard Grubb, wife Lauren and three great nieces, Rebecca, Morgan, and Kirsten; Niece, Susan Helms, husband, David and a great nephew, Aiden and great niece, Keira and her cousins.
Bitsy was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, PA. She was a graduate of Hershey High School, Class of 1955 and retired from the Citizens Bank in Middletown, Pa. Bitsy enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends and was a loving and devoted mother to Matt and Heather.
A tribute to Bitsy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 2, 2020 in her Church at 398 N. Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 11 AM in the Church.
Burial will be in the Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown, Pa.
