Obituary for Helen Elizabeth Porter (Matuseck)
Helen E. Porter, 94, of Harrisburg entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Holy Spirit Hospital. She was the widow of Jack E. Porter.
She was born January 17, 1928, in Middletown and was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Rush) Matuseck.
Helen was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and going to the beach. Her greatest love was her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, Alex, Frank, John, Anthony, Mary, and Ellen.
Helen is survived by her son, Edwin Gibbs (Maryanne) of Oregon; daughters, Linda Stoops of Dillsburg, Donna Meehan (Raymond) of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Samantha, Jennifer, Daniel, Andrew, Anthony, Mariah, and Ian; great-grandchildren, Owen, Jacob, Robert, Kenneth, Katie, Morgan, Derek, and Haydon; great-great grandchild, Kylan; niece, Deborah Wahl.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent in Helen’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA 17057 with the funeral arrangements.
