Obituary for Hervie C. Krodel

Hervie Clayton Krodel, 73, of Middletown entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Ramona (Kreider) Krodel to whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
He was born on May 25, 1949, in Hershey and was the son of the late Elwood W. Sr. and Evelyn L. (Shull) Krodel.
Hervie went to Shippensburg University where he earned his bachelor’s degree of science in history.
He was a member of the Rosedale Church of the Nazarene.
Hervie enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, camping, hiking, and watching football, baseball, hockey, and basketball. His favorite teams were Pittsburgh Steelers, Alabama (Roll Tide), Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia 76ers. He was a huge history buff and would watch or read anything about Gettysburg. His greatest love and joy were his family.
In addition to his parents, Hervie was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Krodel.
In addition to his wife, Hervie is survived by his sons, Jefferey D. Krodel (Jennifer) of Newtown, Jonathan W. Krodel (Danielle) of Elizabethtown; daughter, Mandy L. Rose (Shannon) of Middletown; brothers, Elwood Krodel, Jr. Harold Krodel (Meda), Daniel Krodel (Sherri); six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; long time family friends, Sally and Sara Shaneor.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Hervie’s name to Rosedale Church of the Nazarene, 1901 Rosedale Ave, Middletown, PA 17057.
