James E. Books, 83, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest suddenly at the Cape Regional Medical Center, Cap May Court House, NJ.
He was born on February 15, 1937 in Palmyra, PA and was the son of the late Robert and Pearl A. (Jefferies) Books.
James was an Army Veteran having served during peace time. He enjoyed bowling in the GSA and Bethlehem Steel Leagues and camping at campgrounds around the country.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1993.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and a step-son Terry Roush.
James is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Doris (Shafer) Books; a son, David Books and his wife Patricia; a daughter, Jeri Lasher; two step-sons, James Roush and Wayne Anthony; two brothers, Kenneth Books and Thomas Books; ten grandchildren, Holly, Robert, Amber, Alicia, Taylor, Samantha, Tiffany, Douglas, Shawn and Cody and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Park of your choice.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date once the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
