Obituary for James L. King
James L. “Red” King, 81, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Oak Hill Village, Middletown.
He was born on April 18, 1941 in York PA.
James was a member of the American Legion Post 594, Moose Lodge 410 and the Rescue Home Association, all of Middletown. He was an avid fisherman throughout his life.
James was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest King and his sister, Norma Hefflefinger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Susan M. (Smith) King; two daughters, Shari Nigro and her husband Kieth of FL and Rae Ann Lenker and her husband Mike of Middletown; three grandchildren, Justin Lenker and his wife Max, Darby Saint-Louis and her husband Fred and AJ Nigro; a great-granddaughter, Avery Saint-Louis; one brother, Robert King and two sisters, Nancy King and Alice Tyson. He will also be greatly missed by his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; Michael and Diane Smith, Karen and Les Landers, Lori and Paul Smith.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Middletown. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Middletown Cemetery.
The family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to the PA Wounded Warriors Inc. at Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors Inc., 1013 Mumma Rd. Suite 203, Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
