Obituary for James Russell Rimmey
James R. Rimmey, 79, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at home. He was the loving husband of Sandra E. (Greninger) Rimmey for over 55 years..
Jim was born September 29, 1943, the son of the late Keith H. and E. Louise (Cowen) Rimmey and grow up in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
Jim was a Bellefonte High School graduate, a US Army Veteran and a retired Master Sergeant from The Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He also was a retired computer programmer for the PA State Police and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Jim was a member of the M.A.B.A. and had coached baseball and softball for many years. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and was an avid Penn State Football Fan. Jim’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife; his son, James “Chris” Rimmey and wife, Joann, of Ferndale, CA; his daughter, Jennifer E. Miscevich and husband, Michael, of Middletown; his sister, Patricia Rimmey and his grandchildren, Emily, Brianna and Victoria Rimmey and Sarah, Mitchell and Miles Miscevich.
Services will be held at 12:30 PM, Monday, March 20,2023 in the Matinchek Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. at 260 East Main Street, Middletown, PA. A visitation will be from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA following the services.
