Obituary for James Michael Sniscak

James M. Sniscak, 74, longtime resident of Boiling Springs, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 24, 2023, at home, surrounded by family. He was the loving husband of Cynthia G. (Caparosa) Sniscak for over 52 years.
Jim (affectionately called Jiggy by many) was born on March 30, 1948, the son of the late Joseph B. and Jennie D. (Mlinko) Sniscak. Jim is survived by his wife, Cindy; his son, Stephen J. Sniscak and wife, Tracy; his daughter, Kristen E. George and husband, John; his sister, Nancy Dillon, his brothers, Thomas J. Sniscak and wife, Kathy, and Michael Sniscak and wife, Lisa; his four grandchildren, Joey, Tim, Jack, and Stevie George, and sixteen nieces and nephews.
Jim was a leader and a 3-sport athlete at Middletown Area High School, starring in football, basketball, and baseball. As a quarterback, he was selected to the Big-33 team representing the state of Pennsylvania. After exploring many college offers, he chose to attend the University of Maryland to play football and major in Business. It was there in College Park where Jim met the love of his life, Cindy, and they were married upon graduating in 1970.
Jim went on to have a long career with Roadway Express and later Roadway Package System (RPS) before becoming an entrepreneur and starting his own business, Energy Savers Contracting, Inc.
Jim enjoyed golf, basketball, coaching for the YMCA, and his greatest passion, fishing. One of his favorite places to visit was 1000 Islands, New York, where he organized an annual fishing trip for family and friends for the past 40 years. Jim loved music, traveling, cooking, and helping others in need. He was community minded and not only was a Big Brother for several years, but also served as a board member for Community CARES. Jim’s greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his grandsons. He was known for his generosity and wonderful sense-of-humor. Jim’s laughter and larger-than-life personality will be greatly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the West Shore Elks Lodge, located at 108 N. St Johns Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
