Obituary for Jean Elizabeth Smink (Martin)
The Lord took Jean Elizabeth (Martin) Smink, 90, of Middletown, to her eternal home on January 31, 2021. Jean was born in Ashland, Pa. to the late Earl and Isabelle Martin on July 30, 1930. She married the late Lamar John Smink in 1950
Jean was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where she was very active. Her greatest pleasure was her family and playing “Bingo”.
She is survived by her three daughters and son in laws, Marsha Geib (John), Deborah Stehr (Ricky), and Theresa McAlpine (Rick) and also her daughter-in-law Sheila Smink.
She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren
Her husband “Johnny”, her son Randy, and grandson Dustin preceded Jean in death.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, February 8,2021 in the Hillsdale Cemetery, 1630 Hillsdale Road, Middletown, PA, with The Rev. Dr. J. Richard Eckert officiating. Do to Covid-19, a private viewing will be held prior to her services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church in Middletown or Compassionate care hospice in Harrisburg.
