Obituary for John Green
John E. Green, 95, of Middletown entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 4, 2021 at his sons home in Elizabethtown.
He was born on June 7, 1925 in Royalton and was the loving son of the late John H. and Amanda (Bartonschlager) Green.
John was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Middletown.
He enjoyed going to the mall and people watching. He was his wife's caregiver for many years prior to her passing after 64 years of marriage. It was a job that he did not take lightly and took great pride in doing anything he could for the love of his life. He liked to go to adult day care and would often keep an eye out for others to ensure their safety. His greatest love was spending time with his great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ann (Arndt) Green, John was preceded in death by eight siblings.
John is survived by his sons, Scott Green (Tammy) of Elizabethtown, Jeffrey Green (Martha) of Elizabethtown; daughters, Ann DeMarco (John) of Linglestown, Cathy Hamill (Companion, Barry Starner) of Carlisle, Lori Hoch (William) of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in John's name to the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 157 E. Water St. Middletown, PA 17057.
The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home, 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA with the funeral arrangements.
