John T. Marks, 88, of Middletown, PA, died April 17, 2022 at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital with his loving wife Betty Marks at his side. Born in Raphine, VA, John was the son of the late Thomas Marks and Marcia (Kronauer) Marks. John proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and in the Navy Reserves. For many years, John was a member of the Parish Council at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and School in Middletown. He also served for many more years unofficially as an active Church member. John owned and operated John T. Marks Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning for more than 30 years. John was always quick to help someone in need. John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty (Orsinger) Marks; his children, son, David Marks (husband of Valerie Marks) of Leawood, KS, daughter, Debra Marks of Harrisburg, PA, son, John Marks (husband of Teresa Marks) of Middletown, PA, and son, Daniel Marks (husband of Stacy Marks) of Boyertown, PA, and his 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Geary Marks (husband of the late Sharon Marks).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at Seven Sorrows of the BVM Church, 280 N. Race St, Middletown, PA. with the Rev. Fr. Timothy Sahd as Celebrant.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at the church.
The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 260 E. Main St. Middletown to handle the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown, PA 17057.
