Joseph T. Clair, 54, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest, on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
Joe was born January 4, 1969, in Camp Hill, PA and was the son of Oscar W., III and Barbara A (Coble) Clair, of Ocean View, Delaware.
Joe was an avid fisherman, hunter, and all around outdoorsman. His favorite spots included fishing the Indian River in Delaware for stripers and standing on the banks of the Susquehanna River with his favorite fishing buddies, son Joey or his Dad. Joe loved to be at the beach visiting his parents, telling stories about the fish he almost caught, going metal detecting, and bringing home crabs for dinner. But hands down, Joe most loved being at the family cabin in the mountains of Tioga County, PA. Joe knew every tree and every deer trail and always had a story to tell about his latest adventures to the cabin. His Pap Coble was most instrumental in teaching Joe how to navigate the woods and instilling his work ethic to be perfect in the work you do. Joe always loved being outdoors, going for ATV rides, and most loved snowmobiling with Pap whenever it snowed. Joe’s other favorite activity was taking LaWanda, for whom he loved dearly, on rides on his Harley’s and spending good times with great friends. Joe always loved his pets, especially his most recent puppy, Sophie, who he liked to take for her rides in the truck as well. Joe was very handy and if you needed a tree cut down, something fixed, or had an electrical problem he was the best friend to call and always had time to help.
Joe loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren for whom he adored even though the distance apart made it difficult to spend more time together. Carrie Jo and Joey have both inherited the love of the outdoor lifestyle and Joe’s spirit will certainly live on through them and the grandchildren.
Joe was a trained electrician but spent his early adult years in West Virginia where he worked as a logger and raised his family. After moving back to PA in 2007, he again returned to being a professional electrician working for Clark Mechanical Services in Lancaster. He was proud to be an electrician and always showed up to work because Joe didn’t believe in being sick.
Joe is survived by his parents, his daughter, Carrie J. Clair (Man, W. Virginia), his son Joseph I. Clair (Middletown, PA), his partner, LaWanda Gipe (Middletown, PA), his brother, Eric W. Clair and wife Carrie (Elizabethtown, PA) and his grandchildren, Paislee and Landon Collins (Man, W. Virginia).
