Obituary for Kenneth S. Barge Jr.

Kenneth S. Barge Jr., 88, of Liverpool, entered into eternal rest on May 31, 2020 at the Premier at Susquehanna, Millersburg PA.
He was born on May 13, 1932 in Middletown and was the son of the late Kenneth S. Sr. and Catherine (Librandi) Barge. He was known around town as Sketz.
Ken was of the Methodist faith and was a proud US Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was retired from the former Fruehauf Corp. where he was a superintendent. Ken also was the owner of the former Sketz’s Brass Rail and Siler’s Café in Middletown. He also worked as a painter and wall paper man for many years.
He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling but his most cherished times were when the whole family got together in his Liverpool, PA home.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Kinsey and Robert Stinson as well as a sister-in-law, Ginge Stinson.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Karen Barge with whom he enjoyed 40 loving, happy, very special years and misses him desperately; five children, Keith Biter and his wife Becky, Dana Kornfeld and her husband Ross, Brenda Arnold and her husband Terry, Stacey Burrows, and Kim Lahnstein and her husband Steve; a sister, Edith “Sis” Kinsey; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes, there will be no memorial services.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alz.org or to St. Jude’s at Stjude.org.
