Obituary for Lalitha S. Alexander (Asirvatham)

Lalitha S. Alexander, 84, of Middletown, PA entered into eternal rest on March 27th, 2020 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was the loving wife to Paul M. Alexander.

Lalitha was born on May 31, 1935 in Palayamkotti, Tamil Nadu, India. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Suguna Asirvatham. Lalitha was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Middletown. Prior to that she was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey and Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Middletown. She was an active member of the Gideons International Women’s Auxiliary and hosted a Family Bible Study Group for over thirty years. She had a long career as a supervisor and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Lalitha is survived by her husband and three daughters, Punitha S. William and husband Robert, Sugirtha D. Judd, and Vanitha M. Elgart and husband Adam. Two other children, a son Santhakumar and a daughter Geetharani, preceeded her in death. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Prasana, Prema, Preeta, Priya, Alexander, Samantha, Grace, and Hope.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral will be conducted on April 2, 2020. The family plans to have a Memorial Service which will be scheduled at a later date once the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Please continue to check this web site for the date and time for the Memorial Service. Internment will be in Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, PA.

The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. Middletown to handle the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Gideons International” and mailed to the Dauphin South Camp Gideons International, P. O. Box 641, Middletown, PA 17057
