Obituary for Larry R. Long
Larry R. Long, 60, of Harrisburg, PA entered into eternal rest suddenly at his home on March 18, 2020. He was the loving husband to Christine A. (Myers) Long.
Larry was born on December 18, 1959 in Lebanon, PA and was the son of Dolores F. (Ulrich) and the late Raymond E. Long.
Larry was a US Navy veteran with 23 years of service and attended church at Garden Chapel in Middletown PA. He enjoyed working with wood, photography of God’s creation, going on vacation and most of all going to visit his children and spending time with family. He truly cherished every moment with his granddaughter.
Larry was a bold witness and follower of Jesus Christ. He shared his faith and love for God with all he came in contact with.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, his mother, his two daughters, Kendra L. and husband Timothy Zimmerman Jr., of Oak Ridge, TN and Danielle K. and husband, R.J. Shaver, of Asheboro, NC; his two brothers, Kenneth and Eugene Long; his sister, Kathy Collins and his granddaughter, Serenity Hope Shaver.
Memorial Services will be held on August 21,2020 at 2:00pm in the Garden Chapel, 468 Edinburgh Road, Middletown, PA 17057. Private burial with military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery prior to the memorial services.
The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. Middletown to handle the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Garden Chapel, 468 Edinburgh Road, Middletown, PA 17057.
