Obituary for Lawrence R. "Ray" Runyeon Jr.
Ray Runyeon, 77, of Hummelstown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Arden Courts of Susquehanna, Harrisburg.
He was born on March 28, 1942 in Johnstown and was the son of the late Lawrence R. Sr. and Ethel (Kring) Runyeon.
Ray started his own collection business in 1982. His children joined him in the business and continue his success today.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Runyeon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rebecca (Bretz) Runyeon; three children, Brad Runyeon and his wife Karen of Hummelstown, Vicki Hartman and her husband Don of Middletown, and Debbie Reitz and her husband Doug of Hummelstown; six grandchildren, Shelby Reitz, Courtney Chortanoff, Nate Reitz, Lindsay Yurovich, Cameron Runyeon, and Emily Runyeon; five great grandchildren, Kylee, Ryder, Anna, Max and Kade; a mother-in-law, Betty Bretz and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association; Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, Harrisburg Office at www.alz.org. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Arden Court for their excellent care.
The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Middletown to handle the funeral arrangements.
