Obituary

Marilyn Gail “Tootie” Kneval, William’s beloved wife of 43 plus years, joined God in Heaven on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 with Bill at her side.
She was born January 27, 1940 in Harrisburg, PA. The daughter of now deceased Amos “Ace” and Winifred, “Winnie” nee Bush Miller.
At Highspire High School she earned many 4 year varsity sports letters, being the first student to do so. She also became the lead band/parade majorette helping the school to win many awards.
Upon graduation, again became the youngest employee at Pennsylvania’s State Roads, and then at Maryland’s NASA - Goddard Space Flight Center. While employed, she liked playing golf, bowling, earning several local bowling trophies.
While enjoying home life years, Marilyn enjoyed all types of gardening. She especially loved riding “Big Red.” She also loved planning International Travel to be taken, and the eventual “Zug” rides to Europe’s cities, partaking of their seasonal markets and foods.
She is survived by a host of loving cousins, brother and sister–in-laws, their families of nephews, niece and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make your prayer and memorial donations to your own place of worship.
Condolences may be sent in Maryland to: www.beallfuneral.com or in Pennsylvania at: www.matinchekfuneralhome.com who have been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

MY favorite memory of Tootie comes from her chewing me out when I failed to hear her Head Majorette whistle and thus did not initiate a roll-off when I was playing the bass drum in parades. She just could not believe I couldn’t hear it. I lived next door in the same house on Elizabeth street and spent many evenings with Toot, Winnie, and Mrs. Bush, hearing stories about the old Highspire days and especially about old Barney who lived in our house before us. Tootie will be missed for her occasional visits back to Elizabeth Street through the years. She was a good neighbor and nice person. Kent Hoover
