Mary Elizabeth Bivens, 95, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Middletown Home.
She was born on March 24, 1925 in Riddlesburg, PA and was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Kolodzieyczyk) Lazor.
Mary was a member of Seven Sorrows of the blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, where she was active in the CCW, the Legion of Mary, and the Golden Age Group. She was also a member of the Royalton Senior Center and the Londonderry Senior Group. Mary enjoyed traveling and was quite the world traveler and also enjoyed swimming and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Bivens Sr., a son James M. Bivens Jr., and seven siblings.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer McClun-Waggoner and her husband Harvey of Ventnor, NJ and Mary E. Weiss and her husband Van of Landenberg; six grandchildren, Matthew McClun, Rachel Clark (Walter), Christine Rizzo (Mike), Jeffrey Bivens, Megan Acevedo (Angel II), Lauren Weiss; six great-grandchildren, Paden, Dylan, Mary, Angel III, Brooke and Tyler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown Pa 17057 with the Rev. Ted Keating as celebrant.
Viewing will be from 10:00 Am until the time of Mass, in the narthex of the church.
Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions please be made to Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown or to the Middletown Home, 999 W. Harrisburg Pike, Middletown PA 17057, please note Mary’s name on the contributions to either place.
