Obituary for Mary Ellen Shaffer (Sinkovich)
Mary Ellen Shaffer, 67, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 13, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was the loving wife of Kenneth D. Shaffer for over 46 years.
Mary Ellen was born on July 20, 1955 in Harrisburg, PA and was the daughter of the late John F. and Kathryn M. (Teleky) Sinkovich.
Mary Ellen was a retired Front Desk Supervisor at University Fitness Center, Penn State Hershey Health. She enjoyed going to the beach, floating in her pool, spoiling her grand dogs, and making trips to casinos. Mary Ellen also enjoyed cooking, especially her ethnic recipes; although her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons.
Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, along with son Adam N. Shaffer and wife Natalie, son Daniel D. Shaffer and wife Cara, grandsons Ellis and Ambrose Shaffer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen was also preceded in death by her six siblings, Barbara Ann Gelata, Kathryn Ann Sutton, Lawrence C. Sinkovich, John J. Sinkovich, Michael L. Sinkovich, and Joseph J. Sinkovich.
Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Matincheck Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 260 East Main Street, Middletown, PA. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 PM Friday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, memo line: "Threads of Hope", 64 Ann Street, Middletown, PA 17057.
