Obituary for Mary C. Myers (Chislett)
Mary Cordelia Myers, 84, of Middletown entered eternal rest on Friday, December 30, 2022, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was the widow of Glenn H. Myers.
She was born October 2, 1938, in Yeovil, Somerset England and was the loving daughter of the late Emanuel and Annie (Nancurvis) Chislett.
Mary was former athlete in her home country and was record breaking sprinter. Before moving to the U.S. Mary was asked by England to participate in the Olympics for their team, but Mary decided she wanted to focus on raising her family.
She enjoyed knitting, BINGO, and shopping, but her greatest love was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her two sisters.
Mary is survived by her sons. Wayne Myers (Donja) of Elizabethtown, Glenn Myers, II of Middletown; brothers, Patrick Chislett, Melville Chislett; sister, Cynthia; grandchildren, Erica, Chelsea, Rachel; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jada, Charlotte, and Mackenzie.
A tribute to Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA with Fr. Timothy Sahd officiating. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. The service will be live streamed on Mary’s page on the Matinchek website.
Burial will take place on Monday, January 9, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown.
