Obituary for Merle J. Hipple (Knerr)

Merle J. Hipple, 92, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 25, 2021 with her family by her side.
Merle was born on June 16, 1928 to the late Claude S. and Mazie A. (Kehler) Knerr. She was the widow of Harry R. Hipple.
Merle was a member of Middletown First Church of God where she was a Sunday School Teacher for a number of years. She was an avid card player and belonged to a number of card clubs in the area and also enjoyed playing cards with her family. Merle enjoyed baking and was known for her “sticky buns and raisin filled cookies”. She also enjoyed going to the beach and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Merle also was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Fan.
Merle is survived by her son, Tim R. Hipple and wife Sue, three daughters, Susan R. Hipple, Sandra J. Benson and Sallie A. O’Donnell and husband, Lance, her sister, Ida Kramer, daughter-in-law, Ann Flury (Fred), son-in-law, George Hein and sister-in-law, Joyce Knerr, her 8 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Merle’s husband, son, Ted E. Hipple, grandson, Tracy E. Hipple, step-daughter, Marie Hein, her 6 brothers and 3 sisters, all preceded her in death.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 12 noon in her Church at 245 West High Street, Middletown, PA. A viewing will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon in the Church. Burial will be in the Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, PA.
