Obituary for Nancy L. Obenstine (Shenfeld)

Nancy L. Obenstine (Shenfeld), 84, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Lancaster General Hospital.
She was born September 3, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Albert L. Shenfeld and Gladys V. (Kennedy) Shenfeld.
Nancy enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, sewing, crafts, putting jigsaw puzzles together, Sudoku, watching it snow, and loved animals, especially her two cats, Smoky and Cally, and her grand pot belly pig, Charlotte. Her most enjoyable time was spent with family at picnics/gatherings, which included playing board games and cards with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Obenstine, Sr.; brothers, Richard Shenfeld and Charles Shenfeld; and sisters, Elaine Kolaric and Sally Ann Shenfeld.
She is survived by her four children, Gwendolyn Fetter and her husband Rick, Edgar Obenstine, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Patti Obenstine and her partner Jeff Hughes, Jo Ann Schaffner and her husband Robert; five grandchildren, Amy Popp and her husband Michael, Wendy Fetter, Brent Obenstine, Bryce Obenstine, Robert Schaffner, Jr. and partner Ashley Loy; three great grandchildren, Andrew Popp, Christopher Popp, and Jordon Popp; two brothers, William Shenfeld and Donald Shenfeld; and two sisters, Patricia Zahar and Deborah Ridley.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA with Rev. Britt Strohecker officiating. There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of service at noon on Thursday.
A private interment for family and close personal friends will be at Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown.
