Obituary for Nell Irene Taylor (Holsopple)
Nell Irene Taylor, 93, of Elizabethtown entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2021 at Masonic Village Health Center.
She was born on July 24, 1927 in New Alexandria, PA and was the loving daughter of the late Edwin E. and Fannie (Weaver) Holsopple.
Irene was the youngest of 10 children. She graduated High School in Derry Twp. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors in Pharmacy. Irene went on to pass the state boards in June of 1949 and worked for local stores in Greene County. In 1952 she married William B. Taylor and together they bought a community drug store in Carmichaels, PA. They owned and operated the store until 1979. They moved to Florida where they spent 22 years before returning to Hershey, PA until finally settling into Masonic Village in Elizabethtown in 2009. She was an avid golfer and won numerous trophies throughout the years.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Irene was preceded in death by nine siblings.
Irene is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A tribute to Irene's life will be held on April 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Matinchek Funeral Home, 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA with Chaplain Timothy A. Nickel officiating. Due to restrictions the interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be private.
