Obituary for Pauline S. Smith

Pauline Salic Smith of Middletown PA entered into eternal life on February 7th 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 13, 1934 in Williamstown, PA and was the daughter of the late Titanna (Polshin) Salic and Dymetro Salic.
She retired from Penn State Capital Campus, Harrisburg.
She graduated from Williamstown High School in 1952. Pauline was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Middletown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Donald Lee Smith Sr. and her sisters Mary Rowe, Catherine Dolan, Margaret Maurer, Ann Finley, Theresa Hammes and brothers, Daniel and Harry C (Pete) Salic.
She is survived by her children; Donald Lee Smith Jr. and his wife Carol, Michael Peter Smith and his wife Karen, Kimberly Ann Orfanelli and her husband James and Kristina Marie Myers and her husband Jon; two grand dogs, Maxie and Lexie; grandchildren, Donald L. Smith III, Garrett R. Smith, Jonathan K. Myers, Jerrod K. Myers and Michael P. Smith Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Pauline dearly loved her children and grandchildren. Pauline spent many hours attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Pauline touched many lives in different ways and was a blessing to all who knew her. She was involved in many volunteer programs. She was the Treasurer of the Seven Sorrows Athletic Association for 36 years and the Vice President of the Main Street Gym Rescue Project for 36 years. She coached MABA girls softball for 10 years, was the MABA secretary for 10 years, Lower Susquehanna Softball League for 8 years, Meals on Wheels for 7 years, Committee Woman Republican Party for 5 years, Seven Sorrows Athletic Association cheerleading coach for 4 years, and Middletown Recreation Board Basketball Coach for 3 years.
There will be a viewing from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday February 12, 2021 at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Middletown. There will also be a viewing from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday February 13, 2021 at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown, PA 17057.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM Seven Sorrows with the Rev. ted Keating as celebrant.
Burial will be at the Middletown Cemetery immediately following Mass.
