Obituary for Peggy J. Beckey (Heider)
Peggy J. Beckey, 83, of Elizabethtown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 24, 2020 in the Middletown Home.
Peggy was born in York, PA on December 25, 1936 to the late Harry C. and Blanche Heider.
Peggy was a retired clerk for the PA State Liquor Control Board. She was a devoted animal lover. Peggy also was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and NASCAR when Jeff Gordon was on the track and loved to knit and spend time with her grandsons.
Peggy is survived by her son, Daniel R. and his wife, Barbara Beckey, of Elizabethtown and her two grandsons, Daniel J. and wife, Kristen Beckey and Zachary Beckey, all of Harrisburg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Beckey; daughter, Linda Beckey; son, Jeffrey Beckey and her 8 sisters.
A visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11AM, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in the Matinchek Funeral Home, Inc. 260 East Main Street, Middletown, PA. Memorial Services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown following the service.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may to be made in Peggy’s name to Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc., 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111 or Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
