Obituary for Robert Herford Adams Jr.
Robert H. Adams, Jr. of Harrisburg entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Colonial Park Care Center, Harrisburg. He was the widower of Nancy (Junker) Adams.
He was born on July 17, 1944 in Harrisburg and was the loving son of the late Robert Adams, Sr. and Catherine (Glenny) Gustin.
Robert was a 1962 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served during Vietnam.
Robert was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State Football. He enjoyed traveling, watching movies, and playing poker. His greatest love was his family.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Adams (Sarah) of Hummelstown; daughter, Karen Kierstead (Joseph) of Elizabethville; sisters, Nancy Smith, Phyllis Bastardi (Ronald); brother, Stephen Adams; grandchildren, Eli and Lauren Adams, Kristofer C, Brenna C. and Logan D. Hoffman; father-in-law, James Junker.
A tribute to Robert’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 E. Main St. Middletown with Rev. Britt Strohecker officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service. The service will be live streamed on the Matinchek Funeral Home website and on Robert’s page for those who are unable to attend in person.
The burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg with full military honors.
