Robert “Bob” Cooney left this world on January 16, 2022. Bob had a wife, Deb, three sons; Keith, Tim, and Paul (deceased) as well as three grandchildren; Eden, Violet and Isaiah. His lovely mother Lois is still with us, and many of the Cooney/Hoffman family also. Sadly too many Cooney and Hoffman’s passed, but they are carried in our hearts.
Bob had a great childhood with 6 brothers and one sister. They were a musical family. His mom was a Radio City Hall Rockette, and a scholar, and entrepreneur who still can perform her piano songs at the age of 96. His father Ed was a cantor at Radio City music hall, and went on to sing at events the rest of his life and instill in all of his kids to take the gift of music that they had and share it.
Bob was a very peaceful soul, and a great father. He was a rock as a husband and loved from his whole constitution.
His passion was to play guitar and write music. His profound songs and talent have now been passed to our sons and the grandchildren for them to happily carry on his legacy.
With Bob by his wife’s side for 46 years, they became one, finishing each other’s sentences, automatically accommodating each other with that same sense of oneness. His humor and banter between his wife and friends was precious and will ever be missed. Somethings you just can’t find in anyone else, but Bob.
Bob was also a great cook and a great book reader, always seeking answers to life. He also could tell you anything you might want to know about any blues or rock bands, (whether you want to or not).
We will miss him every day, every hour, and every minute.
Peace Bob!
