Obituary for Rosella M. Humes (Jefferies)
Rosella M. Humes, 84, of Harrisburg entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 3, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 14, 1935 in Harrisburg and was the loving daughter of the late Leroy, Sr. and Charlotte (Evans) Jefferies.
Rosella was a member of the First Zion Baptist Church, Middletown. She was a mother of the Church and served as an usher for many years.
She enjoyed playing BINGO but her greatest love was for her children, grandchildren and all the children that she would watch throughout the years.
In addition to her parents, Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy O. Humes, Sr.; son, Tyrone Jefferies; brother, Robert Jefferies.
Rosella is survived by her sons, Michael T. Humes (Tammy) of Steelton, Leroy O. Humes, Jr. (Sonia) of Middletown, Brian A. Humes (Mary Empson) of Harrisburg; daughter, Nicole L. Porr of Middletown; brothers, Leroy, James, Richard and William Jefferies; sister, Charmanie Moss; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Reeves.
A tribute to Rosella's life will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM at First Zion Baptist Church, 451 S. Catherine St. Middletown, PA 17057 with the Rev. James Hymon officiating. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
Interment will be at East Middletown Cemetery, Middletown.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Rosella's name to her church.
The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home, 260 E. Main St,. Middletown, Pa with the funeral arrangements.
