Samuel Junior Stum, 93, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2022 surrounded by family in the Hershey Medical Center. He was born December 28, 1928 in Stackstown, PA to the late Myrtle (Stum) Zook.
He is survived by his loving wife, with whom he would have celebrated 71 years of marriage with on April 6th, Mae Virginia (Wise) Stum; 2 children, Brenda Stum and Anita Stum and wife Alison Pottage; a daughter-in-law, Linda Stum; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Stum and wife Jennifer, Amy Deffendall and husband Andrew, Iona Stum, and Logan Stum; 4 great-grandchildren, Hannah Stum, Laura Stum, Olivia Deffendall, and Sofia Deffendall; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Eugene Stum; and a sister, Betty Minnich.
Samuel proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from AMP Inc. where he worked in the tool and die department. He was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Sinnemahoning Sportsman Club and an avid hunter.
A memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 121 N. Spring St.., Middletown, PA 17057. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow services in Ebenezer Cemetery.
