Obituary for Stephen V. Furjanic

Stephen V. Furjanic, 94, of Middletown entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Middletown Home.
He was born June 24, 1926 in Steelton, PA and was the loving son of the late Thomas C. and Barbara (Cerjanec) Furjanic.
Stephen was a member of Seven Sorrows BVM Catholic Church.
He was a veteran of the United States Army who served during WWII.
Stephen retired from the Olmsted AF base as a fuselage repair mechanic.
He enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, traveling and simply socializing with people. Stephen was well known for handing out candy to all the locals young and old no matter where he was. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to others.
In addition to his parents Stephen was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis M.; daughters, Kay L. Theiss, Billie M. Heim; nine siblings.
Stephen is survived by his brother, George Furjanic; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Seven Sorrows BVM Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown, PA with Fr. Ted Keating as celebrant. There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM followed by the Rosary and Mass.
Interment with full military honors will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg.
The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home, 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA with the funeral arrangements.
