Obituary for Thomas Patrick Tuffy
Thomas Patrick Tuffy, 76, of Middletown entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Ecumenical Retirement Community, Harrisburg. He was the widower of Diane Tuffy.
He was born on August 24, 1946 in Scranton and was the loving son of the late James and Ann (Flynn) Tuffy.
Thomas was veteran who served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He went on to enjoy a long career in computer programming.
He enjoyed sports, especially watching football and baseball. His favorite teams were Yankees, Notre Dame, and Carolina Panthers. He loved going to the lake, spending time outside and dogs. His greatest love was his family.
In addition to his parents and wife, Thomas was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jerry Tuffy.
Thomas is survived by his son, Michael S. Tuffy (Susan) of Middletown; daughters, Tara R. Dangerfield of NC, Leanne M. Luna (Brian) of Erie, Charlene Dearing (Josh) of NC; brother, Jim Tuffy; sister, Ann Chester; grandchildren, Kyle, TJ, Kristina, Jacob, and Gibby.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 E. Main St. Middletown with Pastor Molly Haggerty officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday. The service will be livestreamed on Matinchek’s website on Thomas’s page for those who are unable to attend in person. Full military honors will take place at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thomas’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38104.
