Obituary for Walter C. Hoke Jr.

Walter C. Hoke, Jr. 72 of Grantville entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born June 29, 1948 in Harrisburg and was the loving son of the late Walter C. Sr and Dorothy E. (Hoch) Hoke.
Walter was of the Jewish faith and was a member of the Temple Micah.
Hoke, as he was known to friends and family, was a proud veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 945.
He started as a welder at Bethlehem Steel moving on to a welding instructor at Cumberland Perry Vo Tech. Later he worked in sales, and then as a District Manager, for MG Industries where he retired after 19 years.
Hoke’s love of dogs lead him to become a certified dog trainer and a volunteer for H.O.P.E. as well as a former officer for Dauphin Dog Training Club. He also enjoyed golfing, motor sports and seeing the world, with regular trips to Argentina, Florida and California. Hoke’s greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.
Hoke is survived by the love of his life of 42 years, Lisa Yaffe; daughter, Kelly L. Seaman (David R.) of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Sadie, Macy, Greyson; brothers-in-law, Roy (Hope), Peter (Christine); niece, Elizabeth; nephews, Spencer, Luke.
