Obituary for William John Kundra
William John Kundra, 86, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on January 13, 2023, at the Hershey Medical Center.
He was born on, August 24, 1936, in Middletown and was the son of the late John A. and Anna (Ortity) Kundra.
William was a veteran of the US ARMY 24th Infantry stationed in Germany then 104th Armored Calvary PA Army National Guard.
He worked at Olmsted Air Force Base, Bethlehem Steel and ultimately retired from Mechanicsburg Naval Depot as an electromotive equipment mechanic.
Bill was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, sharing his knowledge and telling stories. He was highly accomplished in his career and could fix anything. He also enjoyed restoring tractors and cars, tying flies, leather-work, wood-working.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his sister Helen (Earl) Shelley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marilyn (Lebo) Kundra; daughters, Bonita (Rodney) Kiner, Kim (Robert) Durham and Angela (Harry) Weaver; 6 grandchildren Nicole, Joshua, Jared, Harry, Adam and Alexis; and 4 great-grandchildren Brynley, Gavin, Peyton and Maverick.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Middletown with the Rev. Fr. Timothy Sahd officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home.
