Obituary for William George "Bill" Lux

William G. “Bill” Lux, 95, of Middletown entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the Oak Hill Village (Frey Village), Middletown, PA. He was the widower of Esther Marie (Maza) Lux.
Bill was born May 15, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre, PA and was the son of the late Harry A. and Rebecca L. (Eckerd) Lux.
Bill was a retired Chief of Office Service Division for the Pennsylvania Department of Community Affairs and a WW II and Korean War US Navy Seabee veteran. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steelton and a past member of church council. Bill was a member of Prince Edwin-Spring Creek Lodge No. 486 F&AM, a member and past Steward of Harrisburg Consistory, a member and past Steward of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest #43, and a past member of Tall Cedars Rangers. He also was the past President of the Lower Swatara Volunteer Fire Department.
Bill is survived by his niece, Judy M. Sobotka and husband, Bernie and his nephew, James Maza and several other nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 24, 2022 in the Matinchek Funeral Home, Inc. at 260 East Main Street, Middletown, PA. A viewing will be from 10 AM to 11 AM, Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, PA. The services will be live streamed on William’s webpage on the Matinchek Funeral Home website.
