Obituary for William E. Porr Jr.
William E. Porr Jr., 64, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Hershey Medical Center.
He was born in Valley Forge, PA on July 21, 1955 and was the son of the late William E. Porr Sr. and Doris J. (Arndt) Porr.
He was a supervisor at General Mills and a huge sports fanatic. He also worked part time as for the Harrisburg Senators for many years. He was an avid Ravens, Orioles, and Notre Dame fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a paratrooper. William’s family, especially his grandchildren were his world.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his two brothers, David and Daniel Porr; a sister, Deborah Lancaster, a niece Amanda Mroz and a nephew David Porr.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Antonia M. Porr of Middletown; three sisters, Dena Chapman of Middletown, Becky Roher and her husband Gregg of Bainbridge, and Brenda Landis and her husband Michael Hess of Middletown; three grandchildren, Kaydence Porr, Lincoln Peters and Liam Peters as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A tribute to his life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Middletown with the Rev. Britt Strohecker officiating. Viewing will be from 11:00 AM until the time of services, Friday at the funeral home.
