Obituary for Zachary Nowland

Zachary R Nowland, 29, of Middletown was born November 27, 1990. He went home to his Heavenly Father on April 1, 2020.
As a child he was often found riding bikes with friends or playing pranks with his brother, who was often by his side. Additionally, he had a special bond and enjoyed being with his great grandparents, Vincent and Ester Engle, who preceded him.
He had a natural athletic ability and during his school years he played football and baseball. He liked all kinds of music and enjoyed watching football and movies.
He also enjoyed working out, playing the drums, playing cards and spending time with family.
He was loved by many and was described as handsome, yet humble, an old soul and a deep thinker. He was kindhearted with a great sense of humor. He was someone you could talk freely to without feeling judged and was always eager to lend a helping hand.
Despite unrelenting battles he had faced over the years, he continually fought to be the best version of himself that he could up until the end. Although he will be missed tremendously, his family takes comfort in knowing he had found salvation in Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. He is at peace now with the Lord and his struggle is over.
His most precious gift that he left behind was his son, Nikolas. Nik was his greatest inspiration. They spent many good times playing board games, going to the movies or just passing ball. Nik will continue to be loved and cared for by his Mother, Madison Mione, also of Middletown.
Also surviving are his mother, Darreth Eckert and stepfather, Matthew Eckert, brother, Devon Nowland and his wife Brittany, sisters, Grace Hernandez and Nichole Ross, step siblings, Jessica, Dylan and Casey Eckert, two nephews, Kayden and Carson.
He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Ellen Heath and paternal grandmother Jacquleline Fox and many other relatives and friends.
Contributions can be made to The Elizabeth Loranzo iCare Foundation.
